Position: Lead Technical Artist

-Set up game art management, tools, and integration systems using PhyreEngine

-Integrate UI elements (Scaleform)

-Create 3d assets and world prop animation

2005-2010
Deep Fried Entertainment
In addition to the games listed below, at Deep Fried Entertainment I also conceptualized environments for game proposals, and helped to create pitch documents and budgets for game proposals for PSP, Wii, and DS.  I also directed teams of artists to create three undisclosed projects which were all completed to target.  Additionally, I reviewed and interviewed all artists that were hired.

2009
ShadowPlay (Wiiware)
Position: Art Director & Game Design
-Provided input into core game mechanic, design, flow, and layout
-Designed a quarter of the puzzles in the game
-Designed and created all environments and props
-Created front-end and HUD content
-Worked with lead programmer to create art pipeline for game mechanics

2008
MLB 2K9 Fantasy All-Stars 2 (DS)
Position: Art Director
-Provided input towards game design for features in game
-Led team of concept artists as well as conceptualized baseball stadiums and character designs
-Oversaw all art production for the game including tracking daily art content production
-Applied final polish on baseball stadium art
-Animated a portion of character animation and world prop animation (game play feature)
-Responsible for providing all monthly art deliverables to publisher (Take 2)

 

MLB Superstars (Wii)
Position: Art Director
-Led team of artists to design as well as conceptualized environments, characters, and FE
-Oversaw all art production for the game including tracking daily art content production
-Modeled and textured some of the environments
-Completed final lighting and tweaks on most of the environments
-Worked with technical artist and lead programmers to set up art pipeline for environments, character rigs, and real-time lighting

2007
MLB 2K8 Fantasy All-Stars (DS)
Position: Lead Character Animator
-Worked with concept artists to conceptualized and design environments (baseball stadiums)
-Worked with game designers to create lists of necessary character animation requirements for all actions in game
-Animated large majority of baseball player’s movements.  All animation was done from scratch

2006
Full Auto 2: Battlelines (PSP)
Position: Lead Vehicle Designer/Creator
-Conceptualized and designed majority of vehicles. Also conceptualized environments (roads)
-Led a team of four artists to create all vehicle models and associated damage and weapon models as well as upgrade gifts
-Worked with lead programmers to set up vehicle pipeline and modification systems
-Responsible for ensuring timely delivery of vehicle assets for monthly deliverables to publisher (Sega)

Need for Speed Most Wanted (Xbox 360, Xbox, PS2, Gamecube)
Position: Senior Vehicle Artist
-Modeled and textured licensed vehicles
-Reviewed and created improvement list for other artist’s vehicle models for final approval

2004
Need for Speed Underground 2 (PS2, Xbox, Gamecube)
Position: Senior Vehicle Artist
-Modeled and textured majority of licensed vehicles
-Reviewed and created improvement list for other artist’s vehicle models for final approval
-Provided external contractors with direction to improve quality of their work
-Tweaked vehicle shaders (paint) to provide more variety

2003
Need for Speed Underground (PS2, Xbox, Gamecube)
Position: Vehicle Modeler/Texture Artist
-Modeled and textured licensed vehicles
-Refined and improved vehicle upgrade parts that were received from external contractors

2002
National Research Council, Ottawa
Position: Summer Student Placement as 3D Artist
-On site, created 3D model of interior of Ottawa’s historic Train Station for use as conceptualizing potential renovations.

Education

2000-2002
Received a Diploma in Animation and Graphics Technology from NBCC Miramichi, New Brunswick
-The six semester program primarily covered classical animation for characters and background layout.  Classes also covered life drawing, 3D graphics and 3D animation.
-Received Animediafest 1st Place Computer Special Effects for Animation 2004 award

1998-2000
Received a Diploma in Civil Engineering from Cambrian College of Applied Arts and Technology, Sudbury, Ontario
